Helping to make the uncomfortable, more comfortable.

More than half of New Zealanders (62%) feel the need to keep sexual health concerns to themselves, according to new research from Sexual Wellbeing Aotearoa.

So to help the uncomfortable, become a little more comfortable, we created a campaign titled Emotional Support Bits. The initiative encourages participants to draw their “bits” which are turned into custom plush toys – creating intimate, personalised companions.

It plays into the idea of having an emotional support item – soft toys, weighted blankets, drink bottles – that many people take with them everywhere for comfort. Emotional Support Bits directly challenges the stigma — our ‘bits’ aren’t shameful, they’re something to embrace. We hope these bits help people feel a little more supported talking about and taking care of their own bits.

Emotional Support Bits has already gained support from well-known Kiwi voices, including Melody Thomas, Emily Writes, Jeremy Wells, G.Lane, Morgan Penn, and Rei.
